Yesterday was a very bad day on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County. Two very bad accidents occured in the same area within the same hour.
The first crash happened near mile marker 34 at 8:15 PM. Three semi trucks crashed causing traffic to be backed up.
The second crash happened near mile marker 32 at 8:50 PM. A Semi truck rearended a tanker truck hauling 3,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen, pushing it into the vehicles in front of it.
The tanker truck caught fire along with the 3,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen.
Ohio State Highway Patrol says at least one person died in the crash.
Wauseon and Archbold Fire Departments responded.
The liquid hydrogen continued to burn for the entire night and Friday morning.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes have been closed since the crash.
