Early Monday morning, Hillsdale County 911 put out a “be on the lookout” (B.O.L.) broadcast for a possible intoxicated driver.

A Michigan State Police Trooper located the suspect vehicle in Reading Township and initiated a traffic stop, however the driver would not pull over. Instead, the driver continued a short distance to his home, where he parked the vehicle, then got out and fled.

The trooper was able to catch up to the man, who then resisted arrest.

The driver, Todd David Ricketts, Age 52, of Hillsdale, MI, was in fact driving while intoxicated. He also had a child support warrant for his arrest.

He was taken into custody and lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail.

Ricketts is being charged with operating while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and on a civil friend of the court warrant for failure to pay child support.
