JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — An Osseo man has been charged with felony eluding and felony possession of a firearm following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash Friday night.

Joshua L. Vollmar, 35, of 4730 Tripp Rd. Osseo, MI also faces charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and driving while license suspended.

At around 6:45 p.m., a Michigan State Police Trooper attempted to stop Vollmar near M-99 and Skuse Rd. However, Vollmar took off at a high rate of speed heading west on Skuse Rd. He was driving in a black Monte Carlo with Ohio plates.

The vehicle allegedly reached speeds of 100 mph during the pursuit.

Hillsdale County dispatchers had sheriff’s deputies en route and Williams County deputies waiting at the state line.

The high-speed pursuit lasted about 10 minutes. Vollmar led the trooper west on Skuse Rd and then turning south on Grass Lake Rd, all the way to Montgomery Rd, where he turned east, back towards M-99.

Vollmar crashed his vehicle on Montgomery Rd near M-99 at which time a short foot pursuit ensued. Before police backup could arrive, the trooper had Vollmar at gun point. He was arrested and lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail without bond.
