HILLSDALE – A police chase leads to the arrest of a wanted subject out of the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department Friday night.

Around 10:10 p.m. a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a silver 4-door Pontiac sedan near Pittsford Rd and Beecher Rd. The driver of the vehicled did not stop. The police pursuit lasted about 15 minutes. The driver led the deputy north on Pittsford Rd, west on Hoxie Rd, south on Holcomb Rd, west on Bacon Rd, south on Osseo Rd, east on Beecher Rd, south on Chase Rd, and then east on Hundson Rd where the driver slowed down and turned into a driveway on the 6400 block of Hudson Rd. He was in custody moments later.

The man has been identified as 32-year-old Joseph Scott Ellsworth who is wanted for assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault by strangulation and for interfering with an electronic communication device and domestic violence.

He was arrested and lodge at the Hillsdale County Jail, and is now also facing charges for driving while intoxicated and fleeing and eluding police.
