HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI – Two men involved in an April 25th home invasion in Camden Township are in custody thanks to social media and tips from members of the community.
Bobby Joe Collins, Age 48, of Kendallville, IN was arrested and charged with 1st degree home invasion, accessory after the fact, and on 2 warrants out of Kalamazoo County. He is currently lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail without bond.

Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating a home invasion that happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25th, on the 8000 block of W Camden Rd, just west of Camden Village limits.
The homeowner called 911 after hearing a loud bang at his front door while he was upstairs in the residence. By the time the homeowner got downstairs, he noticed the front door had been kicked in, and what he believed was a brown SUV leaving his driveway. A black purse and a rifle were stolen.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Tim Parker posted surveillance photos of the suspects who tried using the victim’s card at an ATM machine on the Sheriff’s App on April 27th. The photos were circulated on social media. The photos on Hillsdale Watch’s Facebook Page reached 50,000 people and received close to one thousand shares.
Sheriff Tim Parker said that his department received an over whelming response, and thanks to tips from the community, and the hard work and quick response to tips by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office staff, they were able to have both suspects in custody so quickly.
