HOMER TOWNSHIP – A Homer Township man was arrested for domestic assault & unlawful imprisonment early Monday morning.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Domestic Assault/Unlawful Imprisonment that occurred in the 5000 block of 28 Mile Road in Homer Township. The incident occurred on Monday, September 25, 2017, at 2:14 am.

During the investigation, deputies determined that a 24-year-old Homer Township women was assaulted by her husband, a 35-year-old Homer Township man. The male subject assaulted his wife, used a box cutter to cut her clothing off and barricaded her in a room for approximately an hour before she was able to escape.

The female sustained minor injuries during this incident.

Deputies entered the home, arrested the male subject and he was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.

The male and female were married, but separated, and not living together at the time of the incident.
