On October 8, 2017 at approximately 1:05pm, the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to S Hillsdale Rd. near Camden Rd., in Woodbridge Township, for a two-vehicle accident.

Police say Damon Jon Snyder, age 35, of 14770 Hillsdale Rd, Camden, MI. was traveling east bound on W Camden Rd. when Snyder disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of S Hillsdale Rd. and was struck by Cheri Laveta Caruso, age 33, of 313 Village Green Blvd, Hillsdale, MI. who was traveling north bound on S Hillsdale Rd.  Snyder’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side causing him to lose control of his vehicle and run off the roadway to the right.  Synder’s vehicle then struck a sign post and overturned.  After striking Snyder’s vehicle, Caruso lost control of her vehicle, ran off the roadway to the right and came to rest in the ditch.

Both subjects were wearing their seatbelts.
Caruso was transported by Reading Emergency Unit to Hillsdale hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

Snyder was air lifted to St Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio by Life Flight for injuries sustained in the accident.

The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Woodbridge Fire Department, Camden Fire Department, Reading Emergency Unit, Hillsdale Towing, Father and Sons Towing, and Life Flight. 

The accident remains under investigation.
