ALBION, MICH – A body was discovered in the Kalamazoo River in Albion earlier today.

According to a press release, Albion Public Safety and the Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force Team are investigating the discovery of a body in the Kalamazoo River near Haven Rd.

At 1:42 PM today Calhoun County Dispatch Authority was notified by several people kayaking that they found what appeared to be a body in the river.

The Calhoun County Dive Team responded and removed the body from the river.

Albion Public Safety has determined though preliminary autopsy findings that the body was that of William Gillham, 84, of Albion.

Police say there is no evidence of any foul play involved in the 84 year old Albion residents death. Initial findings indicate he had only been in the water a short time when he was discovered by a group of kayakers around.
